In His Hands

Lord, who would I be without you?
How would I see the world?
What would fill my heart?

Time and time again temptations.
Time and time again questions.

Where should I find my motivation?
Why do I even gather with your people?
Will this questioning end?

        ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To everything there is a season.
The season of questioning has finished.
Here I am with you, safe and loved.
Here I am my Father, saved by grace.
Here I am to worship, just as I am in you.
Thank You that nothing can clutch me from your hands.
Welcomed as one of your beloved children.
Happiness
Happiness is a learned thing.
Learn what, where, why and when.
Happiness is a choice.
Choose to be contented, not to dwell, but to look ahead.
Happiness is when we discover.
Be fascinated by the little sparks in the dark.
It is hard to be happy.
But I urge you, do not give up.
When you tire of searching call to the people who bring you joy.
Those who will stand by you in ups and downs.
Oh Lord, thank you for blessing us with other people.
The happiness I find in you is boundless.
Laugh
We laugh.
It makes us feel better.
Covers up and relieves pain.
The best laughter is genuine.
Sometimes we just keep laughing.
For it is more preferable than sorrow.
We can be are released from our troubles.
When we let others it makes us truly happy.
So we continue to relish in that sensation.
Good company consists of those we laugh with.
People whose laughter is contagious.
So when was the last time you laughed?
Not a Barbie Doll
I am not a Barbie Doll.
My body is not perfect.
I don't tick all the boxes.
My body is loved as is.
All bumps, bones and curves.
I work to achieve my goals.
Being real is better.
Working for what you wait for makes you value it.
Causing you to not just get, but learn and grow.
Thank-you Father for the ability to choose.
The choice to be real.
The ability to look beneath the surface.
Ode to Recyled Reading
Dedication:
To the second hand bookshop in Epping, Sydney.
Empty.
Where do in find the words?
Is the smell still there?
If we where to gather all the memories of  people who have lingered...
Could we recreate you? No.
But we can lament as one.
I remember reading, traveling, and seeing little notes.
Oh, let us adventure and benefit from the tales of others.
All that is left is the clock, telling the time we forgot.
In our hearts and in our shelves we will keep.
Just like the little treasures placed upon the wall.
For now is the time for us to share your story.
People Puzzles
I like puzzles.
Solving them with others.
Sharing and relishing in the results.
Being a support worker means being part of a team.
All focused in helping a client grow.
It is as if we are solving a puzzle together.
Teaching someone new ways of doing things.
Gently giving advice to someone,
persuading them to "turn it this way".
The trick is letting people know that they're doing well.
" You just need to take a break, come back, and look at things a new way"
and add "I'll be there to help when you're ready".
Wisdom is acknowledging that you can't solve everything alone.
And if we combine our skills, gifts, and understanding then together...
We can solve people puzzles.
Silence
There is nothing like silence.
Sometimes sought after.
Sometimes avoided.
Sometimes filled with purpose.
There is nothing like silence.
