The Age of Beauty

Beauty is often perceived as something
belonging only to the young.
This idea, however, is not altogether correct.
for there is in fact a vast deal to be found in the mature.
They possess that certain manner and in
both semblance and personage that is beauty.

For beauty is not only a value to be
uncovered outwardly but inwardly.
In point of fact it is the former that causes
the latter to become so attractive.

Consider a person's smile -
Whether old or young what causes
that lifting of the corners of the  mouth
and that particular lighting of the eyes
that proclaims within one of two persons -

The benevolent and the malevolent.
This secret is indeed unveiled in such a smile.
Charm can also be uncovered in a persons' skin.
Whether it be the callous for many days of
hard labour in improving the lives of others,
or the various wrinkles upon the face depicting
a rather lively and jovial disposition or the
frequent smiles of humble contentment
that mould those distinctive
creases worn upon their countenances.

However some wrinkles indicate to an
observer the signs of discomfiture that
spring out of a fountain of dissatisfaction
with others, those around them,
and quite often with themselves.

You see, their was an age wherein our
saviour came and brought with him a
grace that brigs the ultimate satisfaction
and is the type of beauty that
continues to grows in the heart and
shall never cause it to begin to ache.

That my readers was the age that was
the watering can for all ages to bloom
and blossom into his own likeness.
It has in fact been promised that one
day all with be perfected.

For this water is the unfaltering identity
that can be found in Christ.
For he is the one that God sent
to makes us and all else alike to,
thereby making all right.

Ants...

Why are ants perceived as being worthless?
When you inquire into their ways you can see that
they have a significant role in the Lord's creation.

We swish ants that aggravate us with a great degree of indifference.
Then we may even begin to recite statements,
inculcated within us from an early age.

However, it is not solely ants that we regard in such a manner.
But a variety of other intricately and uniquely made
animals and insects in his creation.

If you take a moment to reflect, within nature
there are all varieties of marvellous creatures to be seen.
Some of which are the small flying insects of bright
colours and shades,
of which it is difficult for one to remember their numerous names.

Let us recall to ourselves as we reflect upon these things,
the words from that beloved hymn;

'All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.'

God - The Greatest Counsellor

When the time comes to grieve -
God is near.
When all you want to do is scream with frustration -
God is near.
When mental and physical pain becomes too great to bear alone -
God is near.
When you're convinced that the whole world is against you -
God is here.
When you could fill the entirety of a bucket with just your tears -
God is here.

He really is the greatest counsellor, comfort, and companion we could ever have.

...

James 4:8 ; "come near to God and he will come near to you."

My first decent poem;

My Country Haven

Slowly, ever so slowly, I open my eyes.

I open them to greet the late morning –

The soft, gentle, circular clouds.

Their edges are beautiful to behold

They are as pleasing and delicate as the finest china

They capture one’s adoration so much that the blue, peaceful tranquillity

Of the sky is almost disregarded and unequal to their loveliness.

Almost.

As I force my eyes to wander away

From the clouds and away from their

Connotations of restfulness to gaze upon

That pavonine sky, I am so struck and

Then absorbed in my inspection of it

That I am almost persuaded to pay

Little heed to the landscape.

Almost.

That glorious, breathtaking Australian Landscape…

So delightful and refreshing it is to gaze upon its fascinating green and brown folds.

They are the folds and layers of the landscape.

Like a beloved quilt, filled with warmth

And comfort and dotted with

Intriguing, intricate patterns of foliage and

Cattle slowly devouring the grass shoots beneath them.

One of these so intricate and intriguing patterns

Is that formed by the eucalyptus trees

They are as dances to the soothing humming

Of the native bees and the song of the birds

Who would call them home –

Magpies, currawongs and kookaburras

All singing the melodious song of nature

Unimpeded by the unlovely,

ugly cacophony of the civilisation of man and that associated with it.

If only man could let alone

This God made quilt to rusticate

Peacefully until it is put to rights by its creator…

But can we ever resist?
