Waiting...

Some find waiting difficult.
Some jump at their first option rather than wait.
Some do this in small ways until they magnify.

We become easily impatient in this fast-paced world.
Everything must be done now.

Waiting on others, we are tapping our feet.
Waiting for a holiday, we are working hard.
Waiting on God, we are questioning how long?

When I think of waiting on God
I remember those who have done likewise.

Abraham and Sarah waiting for a child.
David waiting for God to deliver him from many perils.
The Israelites waiting to return to the promised land.
Simeon waiting for the promised Messiah till old age.
The disciples waiting for the Holy Spirit.
And Christians now and over the years waiting for Jesus to return and restore.

God may take his time to fulfill his promises and answer our prayers.
But his timing is never late, it's just when he carefully planned it to happen.
If we try to rush and hurry things along it may not turn out as well.

So be patient and wait for God.
Unlike other people in life he can be relied upon.

Story
Everyone has a story.
Stories are everywhere.

There’s the story of an international student,
Trying to understand…

The story of a lady living in a nursing home,
Thinking of the past…

Stories of soldiers in distant places,
Waiting to return home…

In the future, past and present,
You can always find a story…

Everyone can tell a story,
When was the last time you paused to listen…?

Jen

“Everything that was a gain for me
I considered to be a loss because of Christ.
More than that, I also consider everything to be loss
in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
Because of Him I have suffered the loss of all things
and consider them filth,
so that I may gain Christ.”
Philippians 3: 7 and 8.

There once was a girl.
Kind, brave and generous.
For her heart belonged to God.

As she grew she taught others she knew,
From the small and weak to the tall and strong.
She did so consciously and unconsciously,
Because her heart belonged to God.

She continues to develop in skill, and in strength,
And with this, ventures into the unknown.
Without her large family and her many friends.
But go she will, for her heart belongs to God.

Why she goes, heaven knows!
She trusts in the one who sends her.
Her heart belongs to God.

So now, we must bow to the one who made us,
Praying that he will look after her;
blessing her and keeping her safe.
And so will she pray, for her heart belongs to God.

Jennifer Adams obeys her heavenly Father.
She knows him. She trusts him. We know she is wise.
Her heart belongs to God.

Our loving Father, bless Jen in all she does.
Introduce her to her siblings in the country,
to her new work, and her new life.
Help us all to remember and emulate this courageous,
compassionate, and selfless women.
With love we commend our wonderful sister into your care.
Our sister, who is, well and truly, your daughter.
This we pray in Jesus name, Amen.

Choose

Men or God?

Galatians 1:10 ' Am I now trying to please men or God?
Or am I trying to please men?
If I were trying to please men I would not be a servant of Christ.'

Over 2000 years ago God made it
possible for me to have a relationship with him.
When his gift of the holy spirit
came it made it possible
for me to be moulded into the
woman that he wants me to be.

But sometimes I don't let him.
I listen to my sinful nature.
What it wants, not what he wants.
I stand there stiff as a board,
like a stubborn child, not moving
forward, not truly living.

The devil does not have the power to do anything.
God gives us the power to choose.
Yesterday, I chose to be wrapped up in my selfishness.
Today, I choose to be  to live life how he wants.

Every day there is a choice.
It's not always easily.
But it is always worth it.
God allows this freedom.
To live for man... or for God.

Which will you choose?
